North Face maker to cut modest number of jobs

A news release from the company, whose brands also include Vans, Jansport, 7 For All Mankind, and Wrangler, said it did not want to disclose how many jobs it would be cutting until employees were notified, but that all business units would be affected. The company said it is financially strong and its business and brands are healthy, but the cuts would help it plan for tighter budgets in 2009.
